Cayuse Coyote Littlesocks

The little dog from Tubby's Tavern in Pondera who inititates the quest to find the Portal of time when she overhears the Spider Brother Tarduk describing an artifact discovered in the nearby Dwarf King Mountains.

Weasle-Nose Rabbit-Ears ("Wiener")

Brave, loyal Wiener befriends Cayuse after she flees from the murderous Tarduk. Good-humored and quick-witted, Wiener helps keep the Quest in perspective for the party

Jedda

Rescued by the dogs after being swept off a mountain trail by an avalanche, Jedda's father is the Dwarf King Glonzen. She, however, has no desire to play the Princess role.

Dunkin

Jedda's grandfather and retired Dwarf King, Dunkin is content to enjoy his retirement...until the dogs show up and he learns the Brotherhood is alive and well, and actively plotting in Bealah.

Gannin

His friendship with Dunkin has endured over the decades, but Gannin has stubbornly refused to acknowledge Dunkin's gift of Mind Speech. When the dogs show up, everything he knows begins to change.

Dally

Adopted by Gannin and his wife Mollee after his own parents died, Dally is young, handsome, a bit too full of himself...and totally smitten with Jedda.

Benjie

Trying to make his way on the streets of Bealah by picking pockets, Benjie quickly grasps the opportunity presented when Gannin hires him as a guide. Bright, loyal and intelligent, he quickly endears himself to both Gannin and Myrna.

Myrna

A retired mercenary, Myrna has settled into a peaceful life as the owner of a Companions House in Bealah. After rescuing Dally, Gannin and the dogs from Brotherhood thugs, she joins the quest.

Oliver

Having served with both Gannina and Myrna in the past, Oliver is now the Guard Master for the Temple of Light in Bealah. Taciturn, disciplined and stoic, Oliver is Hozameen's personal bodyguard

Hozameen

Devoted to the spiritual purity of the Light, Hozameen became the High Acolyte of Light due in large part to the support of his old friend Dunkin Elmore. He is a strong Mind Speaker and aids the dogs in their quest.

Essex

The Temple's Librarian loves knowledge and his precious books. Friend to Danien, he is shy but intriqued by the power struggles he observes within the Temple.

Danien

As High Concilliator, he runs the Temple's day-to-day affairs with quiet efficiency. Hozameen relies upon this gentle, competent man heavily.

Tarduk

The thin, aristocratic Spider Brother who leads Cayuse to the golden tablet bearing the Legend of Bojo. He is a loyal soldier for the Brotherhood of the Web and despises Roland.

Roland ("Rollie")

Roland craves both power and pleasure. He helps bankroll the Brotherhood through his extortion racket, but seeks access to their inner circle. His fat and foppish exterior belies the physical power and ruthlessness that lie within.

Aderin

The charismatic Master of Studies inside the Temple of Light, Aderin is also the Brotherhood's Webmaster. Physically powerful and ruggedly handsome, he is magnetic, ruthless, and deadly.

Erval (The Giggler)

The nickname comes from his high-pitched laugh. Abused by his father as a child, he is Roland's sociopathic henchman. He's contented to let his boss think he's more stupid that he really is.

Jasper

An Apprentice within the Temple, Jasper seeks a path to power and wealth. When he meets Aderin, he finds his role model.

Miram

Bealah's Deputy Mayor, Miram fights to control both his temper and the rivalry between Tarduk and Roland.
